At strippaint.co.uk, we know that many of our customers don’t have the tools, time or manpower to remove heavy doors, large furniture, radiators or metal gates themselves. That’s why we offer a full collection, transportation, restoration, and re-installation (refitting) service covering a wide area — making the entire restoration process hassle-free from start to finish.
This post explains exactly what we do, where we go, how removal and refitting works, and how we price depending on your location. If your property is outside our standard delivery zones, don’t worry — contact us and we’ll often be able to help.

Our Coverage — Delivery Areas We Serve

| Area / Region | Typical Towns / Postcodes Covered | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| West Yorkshire (Core Zone) | Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Harrogate, York suburbs, Shipley, Ilkley | Daily |
| South Yorkshire | Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster | Slightly extended surcharge due to distance |
| North Yorkshire & Harrogate Outskirts | Ripon, Knaresborough, Skipton, Settle, Ilkley area | Daily |

How the Booking Process Works — Simple and Transparent
- Get in touch via our contact page or phone. Provide postcode, description of what needs collecting (e.g., number of doors, gates, furniture), and whether you require refitting.
- We’ll check whether your address lies within one of our standard zones and confirm if extra charges apply.
- Confirm your booking slot — we assign a time when we’ll remove items (often weekly for core areas, fortnightly for extended regions).
- We collect the items, transport them safely, perform the restoration, then call you to schedule re-installation.
- On reinstallation, we also replace or supply any new fixings (hinges, screws, bolts) if originals are damaged or missing.
- You inspect the finished job — only once you’re happy with the result is the service complete.
We provide a written job sheet detailing what was collected, what was replaced or repaired, and a final “done” checklist — giving you full transparency.
Why Using Our Full Collection + Refurb + Refit Service Is Better Than DIY or Local Handyman
- Heavy and awkward items: Period doors, gates, large furniture — often heavy, bulky and difficult to manoeuvre without damage.
- Risk of damage or breakage: Without correct handling, panels, glass inserts, frames, or door joints can split, warp or crack.
- Expert matching: Re-hanging period doors demands correct hinge alignment and door-frame fit — something a general builder may not get right.
- Convenience: You avoid the hassle of removals, transport, storage, chemical stripping or sanding, cleaning, and reinstallation.
- All-in-one service: Restoration + finishing + refitting + fixings — no need to coordinate multiple trades.
- Time savings: What might take you weeks — collecting, stripping, sanding, finishing, re-hanging — we complete in days with professional turnaround.
We always confirm the quote before you commit — no hidden fees, no surprises.
